Cellulite Home Remedies
Cellulite appears in obese, normal, and thin women, so don't go thinking that it only affects the fat and lazy of the species. Because it is such a prevalent problem, several cosmetic procedures promote themselves as either an aid or a cure-all to cellulite. While some of them actually do work, they are not permanent, and they are exceedingly expensive. For those who want to see a reduction in cellulite, or who want it gone completely, here are some inexpensive home remedies to get started:
Diet and Exercise
Proper nutrition and exercise can lower the overall percentage of body fat through metabolizing fat stored throughout the body. While this will not reduce cellulite by itself, it will make the body more responsive to other treatments.
Drink Water and Eat Fibrous Foods
Avoid processed foods opting for natural alternatives such as grains, fruits, and vegetables that are high in fiber. In doing this, the digestive tract will function more effectively allowing digested food run through the body more easily. Be sure to chase food with water at every meal, and between meals, too. Drink six to eight glasses a day, and stay clear of foods high in salt, as they tend to contribute to water retention and add to cellulite problems.
Just Breathe
Cellulite tends to build up whenever muscles are tense from stress. The more relaxed a person is, the better chance they have of reducing cellulite. Practicing yoga or Pilates can teach a person to breathe properly, thus creating adequate blood flow, which also helps burn fat and keep carbon dioxide and other toxins flowing out of the body.
