Does Potassium Cause Constipation?
Potassium does NOT cause constipation.
When considering potassium supplements, too much potassium can cause diarrhea, not constipation. Low potassium levels may cause constipation. Potassium can cause an upset stomach, vomiting, dizziness, and intestinal gas.
A doctor should always be consulted prior to taking potassium supplements, as too much potassium in the system may not only be dangerous but deadly. A potassium overdose can result in mental confusion, dizziness, weakness, paralysis, low blood pressure, and death.
