While you technically can’t put a layout on Facebook – in fact, if you search Facebook for any official layout pages endorsed by them, you can’t even find an article in which they so much as address the layout problem – there are a few websites that create apps that you can post. While your page will still be in the web 2.0 format, the background image, as well as select other images, will remain the same. The upside is that you’ll get to see whatever background and graphics you want on your page. The downside is that your primary Facebook page will overlay the background image save for a few scant places, and your friends won’t be able to see it unless they’ve downloaded the application as well. Nevertheless, if you want to put a background image on your Facebook page, here’s how:
Step 1: Find Your App
Type into your Facebook search bar “Facebook Layout” or “Facebook Layout application” and it will take you to a page chocked full of apps (some legitimate and others entirely questionable) that say they can give you the best layout your eyes have ever seen. Yontoo has an application called PageRage that is endorsed by Techcrunch, a reputable tech and business website.
Step 2: Download, or Install Directly to Facebook
Just click on the “Install Plugin” icon on Facebook or go to the company’s website and download whatever software they make you use, then follow their install wizard. This will allow you to install a background and graphic images on to your Facebook.
Step 3: Tell Your Friends to Download Whatever Application You Have
While they might not do it, it’s worth a try. If you want others to see your background and graphics, then this is the only way they can. Maybe Facebook will change its policies in the future, but don’t hold your breath.
