How to Clean Carpets
Knowing how to clean carpets is not a science, but to keep your carpets looking newer longer there are several factors to take into consideration such as time and expense, type of carpet, degree of stain and soil, and drying time. Discover which carpet cleaning methods are optimal for your situation.
The five methods of carpet cleaning most commonly utilized are hot water extraction/steam cleaning, rotary shampooing, dry extraction, dry foam extraction, and bonnet/absorbent-pad cleaning. For do-it-yourself residential carpet cleaning, the hot water and dry extraction methods are the best choices. Although dry foam extraction may be performed by a do-it-yourself cleaner, the results are often marginal.
