One of the most popular methods of cooking pork chops is frying. Frying pork chops produces a crispy, brown outside and seals in the juices.
Basic Frying Instructions
Heat a fry pan over medium high heat.
Coat the bottom of the pan with olive oil.
Lay the pork chops in the preheated fry pan in a single layer.
Fry 3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
Lower the heat and allow to simmer until cooked through. (160°F)
Basic Coating: Dredge pork chops in egg and flour to add a crispy coating. Whisk eggs in a bowl with a small amount of water. Place a cup of flour in a freezer bag with seasonings to taste. One at a time coat the pork chops in the egg then drop the pork chop in the bag of flour and shake to coat well. Fry in the hot oil.
Chicken Fried Coating: For a heartier coating add ¾ cup of cornmeal, breadcrumbs, or crushed Ritz® crackers to your flour. Repeat the same egg wash dip followed by the flour shake.
Sweet Seasonings: Pork chops served with applesauce are enhanced when adding sweet seasonings to the pork chops while cooking. Try sprinkling the pork chops in the fry pan with a small amount of cinnamon and nutmeg as they are cooking.
