How to Prevent Wrinkles around the Eyes

To prevent wrinkles around the eyes, all it takes is a healthy lifestyle and a consistent prevention regimen.  Look your best with these wrinkle prevention tips.

Eat Right

One of the simplest preventive measures to avoid under eye wrinkles is eating right. Wrinkles result from too much oxidative stress. Eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, grains, olive oil and all kinds of food that are high in anti oxidants protect against just that.

Exercise Regularly

Having a regular workout routine not only brings a rosy glow to your face, it prevents under eye wrinkles too. The reason for this is that more oxygen is delivered to the skin, because of the increased and improved blood circulation that results from regular exercise.

Slather on the Sunscreen-Daily

The importance of wearing sunscreen on a daily basis is often emphasized as a preventive measure against premature wrinkling. But it is not as simple as purchasing a bottle that has the letters “SPF” printed on it from the drugstore and applying it on your skin. It is important that you also check out the label for its ingredients.

Look for sunscreens as opposed to sunblocks. Sunscreens are preferred because they are made from organic ingredients to block the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. Sunscreens prevent these UV rays from penetrating the skin because of the composition of its ingredients, which remain on top of the skin the entire time. It is also important to look for a sunscreen that protects your skin from all types of UV rays, mainly the UVA and UVB rays.

There are now so many options when it comes to sunscreen especially for the face, and they are even incorporated into make-up products. In fact, some sunscreen products are formulated especially for the sensitive under eye area.

Kick the Nicotine Habit

If you are serious about preventing under eye wrinkles, you should consider quitting smoking, if you are a smoker. Smoking can hasten the aging process of the skin by damaging the collagen structure on your skin.
