More Info: A team of researchers at John Hopkins Medical Center demonstrated that vitamin C, as well as other antioxidants, can inhibit the growth of some tumors.  In the study mice were implanted with human lymphoma or human liver cancer.   The researchers discovered that antioxidants had the ability to destabilize a tumor's ability to grow under oxygen-starved conditions.

The best dietary sources of Vitamin C come from fruits and vegetables. While citrus fruits are known for having high concentrations of Vitamin C, other sources such as red or green sweet peppers, kiwi fruits, brussels sprouts, cantaloupe, and guava have concentrations just as high. Of course, citrus fruits such as orange and grapefruits can also contribute to your daily-recommended allowance of 75mg for women and 90 mg for men.

Vitamin C helps the body produce protein collagen. Protein Collagen is found in ligaments, blood vessels, cartilage, bones, tendons, and the skin. Vitamin C and Collagen are needed to stabilize blood vessel structure, eliminate wounds, and nourish body tissues. Vitamin C also behaves as a detoxifier and an antioxidant. Normal consumption of Vitamin C will help reduce pollution deriving from chemicals and medicine.
