Because this back to basics martini recipe does not contain simple syrup (sugar), it is extremely tart if you skip the step of lining the rim of the glass with sugar.

  • 4 oz vodka
  • 2 oz lemon juice
  • Lemon wedge for garnish
  • Sugar to rim the glass

How to Make a Lemon Drop Martini

Remove prep materials from freezer-see below. Fill shaker with ice. Add ingredients. Shake gently until the beverage reaches desired coolness.

Sprinkle sugar on a plate. Tip the rim of the glass into the sugar to line the edges.

Strain into the chilled martini glass. Garnish.

  • 2 parts Absolut Vodka
  • 2 parts Absolut Citron
  • 3 parts lemon juice
  • 1 part simple syrup
  • 1 part triple sec
  • 1 peel lemon

Stoli Honeybee

  • 1 ½ parts Stoli 80
  • 1 part honey syrup
  • ¾ part fresh lemon juice

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. (Honey Syrup is equal parts honey and water)

Can You Make a Lemon Drop Martini with Lemon Ade?

You can make a martini with lemonade though it may be a bit sweeter than most die-hard martini fans would prefer. Make sure you use just a touch or you will end up with a lemonade cocktail rather than a martini. Try this combination:

  • 1 part vodka
  • 1 part lemon vodka
  • 3 parts lemonade
